The Schwabentor in Kenzingen's Brotstrasse was not built until the beginning of the 19th century. The gate building was created by expanding a small passage that had existed since the Middle Ages through the closed ring of houses, which served as a kind of outer wall. In 1958 it was supplemented by the half-timbered house adjoining to the south.
