Auf dieser Strecke liegen drei Befestigungsanlagen, eine frühmittelalteliche auf dem Nielinsberg (8. bis 10. Jh.), die Kuppelburg (castrum canzingen 1094 erwähnt) und die Burg Lichteneck (erbaut zwischen 1264 und 1271). Das "castrum canzingen" ist 1094 die erste urkundlich erwähnte Burg 🏰 im Breisgau.
