The St. Wolfgang Chapel, built in 1732, is located in the center of Hildmannsfeld.
The oldest known mention of the place dates back to 1314 under the name "Hildeboldsfelde". The place was probably a settlement originating from the Schwarzach Monastery and connected to it. Over the centuries there have been repeated attempts to separate from Schwarzach, which has been prevented every time.
The dispute continued in the 17th century when the municipal boundaries were discussed.
In 1811 a baton holder was appointed who later rose to be mayor. In 1938 Hildmannsfeld was reunited with Schwarzach.
