A beautiful Romanesque cathedral, which impresses with its size. The associated garden is particularly worth a visit in the rose season.

Münster Schwarzach (Rheinmünster)
Münster Schwarzach is the name given to the former monastery church of St. Peter and Paul of the former Benedictine Abbey of Schwarzach, located in the Schwarzach district of the municipality of Rheinmünster. The roots of the Schwarzach Minster go back to the foundation of the itinerant bishop Pirmin, who was traveling along the Upper Rhine in the middle of the 8th century AD. Parts of the current church date back to the 13th century. The Abbey Church of St. Peter and Paul was extensively renovated between 1964 and 1969 under the direction of Prof. Arnold Tschira. A large part of the changes made to the Minster in the Baroque period were removed and restored to its original state.

The gable of the former Benedictine abbey church in Schwarzach was scaffolded. At the end of 2022, some parts of the gable cover collapsed. Now the most important sacred building in Central Baden is being restored by the state of Baden-Württemberg.
