Up to here you can follow the Levada do Cantinho, which meanders around Santana, before it disappears into the thicket and the path to the west becomes impassable.
The attempt to pass the spot has to be bought with a powerful shower, which I decided to do without.

A very nice levada through the locals environment and really not touristy. Unfortunately, the waterfall was impassable for us and we had to re-enter the levada at a different point.

Nice to see, but impassable. Well worth to get back to the levada later, though; the bit that passes the tunnels has stunning views when it gets close to the coast
