The former Günter Ruhr impregnation plant in the forest near Buir in Nettersheim (Euskirchen district) operated until 1997. Before that, it was taken over in 1994. The last testimonies to a formerly flourishing business are the old pressure impregnation tanks. RTL made the factory known nationwide in 2009 when parts of the film “The Volcano” were filmed at this location.Source and further information:
