    Hiking

Wachwitz Castle above the former vineyard was built between 1936 and 1937 as a residence for Prince Friedrich Christian by the well-known Dresden architects Lossow and Kühne. The financial means for the building flowed from the compensation that the Saxon Wettin family received from the Free State of Saxony in 1926.

The castle is privately owned and cannot be visited. However, you can walk past the property and enjoy the view of the Elbe Valley from the front. Whereby it is not possible to have a really clear view through the forest.
