The main building of the RWTH Aachen was built from 1865 to 1870 according to the plans of Robert Cremer. On October 10, 1870, the founding event of the Polytechnic School, the predecessor of RWTH Aachen University, took place. Right next to it, the past meets the modern: The SuperC was built from 2006 to 2008 according to plans by Susanne Pape. The name reflects the C-shape of the building, which is completed by the basement. The SuperC houses the student secretariat, the international office and the examination office.
