In the south of Aachen, the Aachen Forest stretches from the Belgian and Dutch borders almost to the Voreifel. The locals also affectionately call it "Öcher Bösch". Here, anyone looking for exercise and relaxation will find an extensive and well-developed network of trails for walking, hiking, running or walking. The sports, geoinformation and land management departments and the municipal forestry office have signposted six circular routes in the Aachen Forest and jointly created a detailed map (pdf) of the circular forest trails.
