From the outside, the brick building is unimpressive, but the inside is all the more surprising. So be sure to take a look inside.
It is a small private chapel of the House of Wettin, which Prince George, the king's brother, had built in 1877. He spent the summer months with his family at his home in Hosterwitz. He obviously did not want to go to Pillnitz Castle for the service, which is why he had a chapel built on his Hosterwitz property.

At number 66 we find the “Maria am weg” chapel. Prince Georg of Saxony had a summer villa built here for himself and his family and in 1877 the "Maria am weg" chapel was built. Initially only intended for the royal family, it was soon open to the Catholics of Hosterwitz.
