Lady Waterford Hall is a former village school turned museum. Built in 1860 by Louisa, Marchioness of Waterford, it served as a local school for over a century. But what truly sets it apart are the remarkable Pre-Raphaelite murals adorning the walls. Lady Waterford, an artistic soul, spent 21 years meticulously painting these large-scale watercolors depicting biblical scenes. The murals feature not just religious figures, but also local villagers and tenants of the estate, immortalized as characters in these grand narratives. Today, the hall offers a glimpse into Victorian village life and Lady Waterford's artistic vision.
