"... The Angertal is a designated nature reserve. It owes its name to the Angerbach, also called Anger for short. The Anger is an approximately 35.8 km long tributary to the Lower Rhine on the right bank of the Rhine, which runs from Wülfrath to the confluence with the Rhine through the Rhineland meanders.
While the river usually has a steep slope, it meets the Lower Rhine terrace near Ratingen-Lintorf and runs very flat from there to the Rhine.
The Angertal is located on the right (east) of the A3 motorway in the city of Ratingen.
The Angertal Railway (also known as the "Kalkbahn" because of the goods being transported) runs on a single-track route across the Angertal (17.22 km in the Ratingen area) to the Rohdenhaus connection of the Rheinkalk GmbH (Lhoist Group) - formerly Rheinische Kalksteinwerke GmbH .
It is only used to transport goods (apart from individual special trips), we drove the whole week from Monday to Sunday. ... "
