The first wooden chapel was probably built here by Lullus, a student of Boniface, between 769 and 786. A stone building was built in 1430, but its roof collapsed in the middle of the 18th century. The new building and simultaneous extension were built between 1766 and 1776. A further renovation was completed a few years ago.
