The Hohenfinow village church is a sophisticated stone building from the mid-13th century. It was originally a three-nave basilica in the style of town churches with a single-nave choir, north sacristy and apse and a three-part west transept. After the destruction in the Thirty Years' War, a reduced renovation of the church took place towards the end of the 17th century. A restoration took place between 2001 and 2009.

The interior is characterized by the remodeling of the years 1906 to 1910. The ogival triumphal arch has been renewed and the apse is covered by a semi-circular ogival vault. A painted coffered ceiling with large depictions of the pantocrator with angels completes the room. Colored glass windows are decorated with figures (apse) and coats of arms (choir) and ornamental grisaille-like panes in the nave. On the south side of the church is the pointed arched priest's door with neo-Romanesque decoration.

Because of the beautiful interior, you should try to get inside the church. It is not an open church: information and the key can be obtained from Dr. Woodpecker, Dorfstr. 10, Tel. 033458-296. We were there on a Sunday. That may be why the church was open when we visited.
