In Scherpenbergen-De Hutten you walk alternately through heath, forest and inland dunes.

At the bridge over the Nete you can read more about the Scherpenbergen - De Hutten area and you can take a break on the bench next to the information board with a detailed map. You walk through several smaller nature reserves with different landscapes that are all part of the Grote Netewoud Nature Park: the wooded De Hutten, lowland peat area De Kwacht, heathland landscapes, the wet nature of the Nete valley and so on.As you can see in a photo, the Scherpenbergen - De Hutten area is described as "the green zone between the forest areas of the Engstraat and Geel-Bel at the height of the Grote Nete and the Scherpenbergenloop." It is a beautiful landscape with a small-scale mosaic of forests, grasslands and dunes."

Nice walking area. Watch out for the horses and what goes with it ;-)
