Dating back to the 14th century, the church was rebuilt many times.
In the years 1625–1643, a chapel of St. st. Gregory and the sacristy on the north side, which was liquidated in the 19th century. At that time, the cemetery of the Old Town parish surrounding the church was also liquidated.
From 1783, the church has a façade with two towers (originally it had one tower).
