Relatively smooth, not too steep and scenic climb from the Polenz Valley to the Hocksteinschänke. Section of the former "Greater Germany Ring". I prefer to drive down the Polenz valley and up here again rather than the climb over the old steep curve of the race track. Relaxed uphill as the cars have enough space to overtake due to the two-lane climb.
It is best to continue from above in the direction of Lohmen or via the Ziegenückenstraße to Bad Schandau or Rathen.

Mountain to be recommended. From the mountain you can not be rushed by any cars. Especially because of the "Rüttelstreifen" in Ashphalt.

The switchbacks through the Polenz Valley are an absolute must, no matter from which direction! 😃

Great climb in every season. Consistently good asphalt. 5-6% on average.
