Very nice circular walk. First step scrambling, downhill. Great experience. Sometimes the levels are easy, but not so that you get a bad feeling. Narrow passages are definitely a highlight for children. Then through the beautiful Polenztal. Just breathtaking. Then again over a few steps direction Rathen. Half way up the ascent to the bastion we were annoyed by a self-proclaimed singer. Three valleys further but also this was no longer heard and the chirping of birds came back to our ears. Past the picturesque Amselsee back to the starting point. Can only recommend this loop to anyone.
The hike from Hohnstein down to the Polenztal was especially beautiful. When it rains, it's a bit slippery. The restaurant "Polenztal" is only open from 15:00 (labor shortage !?). The ascent to the Hockstein requires some effort, but you will be rewarded with the Wolfsschlucht. It's getting tight - oncoming traffic has no change. Safe and exciting for children.
Follow a piece of the famous Mahlerweg and be surprised by a very great route. One should look at the tour but in advance and think carefully about where to park. Not suitable is the tour for old people and for people who need a walker to handle it many steps.
