Today we went with hiking friend Stefan on the Kyffhäuser Weg, which we actually wanted to hike today AND tomorrow in two stages. Now that the forecast for tomorrow didn't promise anything good 🌧 we spontaneously decided to follow the path completely today. It was great, although I would have preferred to take a taxi for the last few kilometers - but there wasn't one 😏😅
It was also nice to have met the hiking emperor Opilio Martinus I on the way 🙋🏼♀️😊👍I got the inspiration to hike here from him ...

Official website for the Forststeig: forststeig.sachsen.de... information about planning contained therein: forststeig.sachsen.de/trekkingroute-4127.htmlThe Forststeig is definitely worth it. At the beginning of September 2020, in my opinion many (not too many) people on the way, so that the hut and bivouac spaces were more full than lonely. On the way, you usually only meet very few people. DRINKING WATER is an important topic! Shortly before my tour it had rained and the rainwater tanks at the huts were filled. If the drought persists, they are certainly not ...The daily stages should be planned more conservatively depending on your own performance. The 6-7 days are realistic and advisable with large luggage. I didn't have a tent with me, but it makes perfect sense and creates flexibility. The Forststeig is really very strenuous (still beautiful 😊).Orientation 🌲🌳🌲🌳🌲 succeeded well in a combination of waymarking & Komoot. I wouldn't just rely on the marking alone or on hiking maps. GPS positioning was very helpful several times. 🌲🌲🌳🌲🌳
