The Château de Montsoreau has been immortalized many times, notably by Alexandre Dumas in his novel La Dame de Monsoreau, written between 1845 and 1846.
Above all, since 2016 Montsoreau has been a Museum of Contemporary Art with the world's largest collection of works from the Art and Language movement. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The castle is open from March 6th to November 5th. Also, from 23rd December to 7th January.
From 6.3.-31.3. and from 1.10.-20.10. The castle is open Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 18 o'clock.
April from 12 to 19 o'clock open. On Tuesdays it is closed.
May and June from 10am to 7pm. On Tuesdays it is closed.
July to September 20 from 10am to 7pm.
21.9. until 30.09. open from 12 to 18 o'clock. It is closed on Tuesdays.
