On the return train journey from Chur, I decided to get off the Voralpen-Express in Rothenthurm and finish the ride home on my bike. Since a violent storm was coming, I had to fight against shear winds and gusts to avoid being blown off the bike. As soon as I was home, it started to rain. Lucky! 😅 That was a great end to my 2020 Corpus Christi bike tour 👍🚴🏼♂️👋

Résumé of the abbreviated heart loop 399: The ascent from Trub to Napf is very scenic. From Fankhus you follow the ´Napf Bike 77´ route to Stächelegg. The rest of the ascent to the Napf is advisable to take under your feet, because you can hardly get around to pushing (short, steep climb). We left our bikes there because we came back there after the Napf summit experience (then a steep gradient). From the Stächelegg we enjoyed the great descent to the wooden car point, where we wanted / could continue the 'Napf Herzschlaufe 399'. From there, the beautiful part of this stage, flowing descent with a magnificent view, can be enjoyed. At the 'Little Fontanne' you stop at the 'Wolf' broom stain, where you can strengthen yourself again. As thunderstorms threatened, we came from Hergiswil b.W. Cycled back to Willisau on the bike path. In summary: With MTBs, the shortened bowl alternative is a great thing ⛰🚴🏼♂️👋

A year ago we made the Napf Route 399 heart loop in the recommended 3 days. This time we changed the tour slightly; only 2 days, on the 2nd day with Napf 1406 m as summit and mountain price. The starting point was always Willisau. We found the overnight stay in Trub, Landgasthof Löwen. Beautiful small, authentic village as a starting point for the Napf climb.
