No matter if you walk to the Dietersbergalpe or come from there (via Käseralpe), this place is a highlight, a really quaint atmosphere can be found here. A really nice place and in the mountain inn you can also stop to strengthen yourself.

Beautiful hamlet with really old wooden houses and gastronomy with an open terrace,

After a steep ascent through the Hölltobel, the path leads into the narrow access road Dietersbach-Gerstruben, which we follow to the right, continuing to climb. Gerstruben is reached after a few minutes.
The former mountain farming village of Gerstruben in the market town of Oberstdorf is or was Germany's highest village (1,155 m). It lies at the beginning of the Dietersbach valley and today has five houses and a chapel, all of which are between 400 and 500 years old. Another building is the "Rechtler" economy, a mountain inn open and inhabited all year round. A museum is housed in the “Jakobe Haus” today, which is open every Saturday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm during the season (source: wikipedia.de)
The following riddle is at the Jägerhütte next to the entrance:
>> Read from the beginning
>> I am the most important thing for every being
>> and without me
>> ceases to exist.
>> If I read from behind,
>> Every hunter curses me
>> and have to take me
>> buy it now. <<
