The history column as a fountain was given to the city of Koblenz for the 2000th anniversary in 1992 by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and handed over in June 2000. The sculptor Jürgen Weber created them. It tells the moving 2000-year history of the city of Koblenz in 10 stages. It starts at the bottom with a Roman boat with wine barrels, followed by the Frankish court, the crusades and the slave trade, followed by the 30-year war, the terrible burning of witches, the French revolution, the Prussian period, the second world war with its massive events destruction and at the top the reconstruction of the city and the present. A masterpiece that you should definitely see!
