  • Sebastian Kowalke

According to legend, in the Middle Ages, a knight of lovesickness plunged from the rock platform into the depths. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Knights fall became a popular destination. At first there was only a small Waldschänke up here, in the 1920s an elegant hotel was built. The hotel was demolished in the late 1970s.

In 1948 met in the hotel, the prime minister of the West German states and agreed to the merger with the Federal Republic of Germany. This is reminiscent of the dark basalt column on the platform today.
