The inventor fountain in the pedestrian zone is a beautiful eye-catcher. At first glance, the fountain looks like a ship with many animals and is therefore often referred to as Noah's Ark.

However, there is no exact explanation for the fountain. Only the three animals at the edge of the fountain seem to have a more precise meaning. The turtle is supposed to represent the car manufacturer August Horsch and his AUDI.

Then there is a fish with a motor. This refers to Nikolaus August Otto from Taunus, who was primarily involved in the invention of today's gasoline engines. The bird on the ship represents another inventor, namely the aircraft manufacturer Carl Clemens Brücker.

The INVENTION FOUNTAIN in front of the Löhrpassage in Koblenz is reminiscent of Noah's Ark - but has a different symbolism.
The ship sees itself as a vehicle on the busy Rhine.
The turtle on four wheels is intended to be reminiscent of the car manufacturer Horch (later Audi).
The bird is a symbol of the aircraft manufacturer Bücker from Ehrenbreitstein.
The fish with the engine represents the engine builder Otto von Holzhausen from the Taunus.
The fountain was a gift from the IHK to the citizens of the city of Koblenz for the chamber's 150th anniversary. Sculptor Gernot Rumpf is the creator of the sculpture.
