The ascent is definitely worth it, as you have a great all-round view (Gleichberge, Bad Rodach, Veste Heldburg etc.) from above.

The Henneberger Warte is a 30 m high observation tower that was completed in 1987 and is still open today.
When the weather is good, numerous landmarks in Bavaria and Thuringia can be seen from its viewing platform.
For example the Thuringian Forest, the Veste Coburg, Kloster Banz, the Staffelberg or the Veste Heldburg.
At the end of 2017, the observation tower was renamed the Egbert-Friedrich-Aussichtsturm - Henneberger Warte, after the local politician, headmaster and local historian Egbert-Friedrich, on whose initiative the tower was built.
