Ascherbrück crossroads 553 m above sea level above Ruhla

At the Ascherbrück, the road between Ruhla and Etterwinden crosses the Rennsteig, making it the third road crossing over the Thuringian Forest from the west, which gradually rises towards the southeast.
At 566 m, this crossing is significantly higher than the two passes further west, Hohe Sonne and Vachaer Stein, both of which only reach heights of up to 400 m, while the next crossing, the Glasbachwiese, already climbs to 700 m.
In contrast to the Hohe Sonne and the Vachaer Stein, this is not a federal road, but a small, narrow local connecting road, which in any case has significantly less traffic than the two aforementioned passes and is therefore much more relaxed to walk.
Unfortunately, there is no view at the top of the pass, as it is in the middle of the forest, but there is a snack bar with a beer garden next to the road.

curiously there is a plaque here that marks this corner as "jubilee grove or the jubilee grove"...
