The beautiful, late classicist villa on the top of the Nonnenberg hillside gave the location its name because nuns from the nearby Tiefenthal monastery once lived here and managed the vineyard and the building. The south-facing slope offers the vines a soil with deep, stony-crusty phyllites and loess loams in the lower part of the slope. This provides the sun-drenched grapes with water and nutrients and produces rich wines full of fine spice and racy acidity.
