The universe from Linden's point of view. The observatory has two so-called telescopic domes with telescopes that are installed on the roof of the water tank. The main instrument for observation is a lens telescope with an opening of 20 centimeters with a focal length of 3 meters. This telescope is ideal for observing planets, the moon, double stars and star clusters and shows very sharp images.

In 1968, Professor Dr. Rudolf Hase founded the public observatory on the Lindener Berg together with the “Astronomical Working Group” that was formed in 1947. In 1986 the name "Sternwarte Geschwister Herschel Hannover e.V." set. The club rooms of the Hanover observatory are located in the former house of the water keeper. This has several towers and bay windows and is similar to a fairytale castle. Lectures on astronomy can be followed here. You can even see the sunspots on the sun, that's how good the telescopes are. Winter is more suitable for stargazing, where the moon or other interesting planets, stars or gas clouds can be observed. in summer the sun is particularly observed.
