This area is quite surreal, and that's where it's beauty lies. The strange limestone rock formations in the middle of this barren, desolate country.
Across the limestone pavement to the east is the giant of Ingleborough, and Whernside is to the north.

I don't quite think that there are that many places in Europe that quite compare to this kind of landscape. There is something very very special about Britain.

Hiking

Worth walking off the given path a little to view the amazing rock formations and standing stones (glacial erratics, I think). Careful where you step, however.
