Wandering Cloud

A solo hiker in the UK, with many trails behind me - I like nothing better than disappearing on the moors, climbing crags, discovering hidden lochs and windswept mountain tops; the more remote, the better. I have my own YouTube channel where I document my hikes across the beautiful natural world of Great Britain.

In September 2025, I published a documentary film "A Wanderer's World" on my experiences in the natural world to my YouTube channel.

The film has had such a good reception that I've now submitted it to several independent film festivals and it has its own website: awanderersworld-film.uk

The first day on this incredible route to climb all the 214 Wainwrights and a tribte to Alfred Wainwright. The first day took me from Keswick over a number of Derwent Fells (see the chapters for the names of the Wainwrights) and eventually to Coledale

Lake District in the snow: a loop to Scales Tarn

A phenomenal 5-mile walk to Scales Tarn in the snow, frost and rather biting wind: the white magic of the Lake District. A fantastic way to start the new year! The highlight was, of course, Scales Tarn, wild, white with the commanding Blencathra above it.

One of the most amazing adventures I've had in a long time! On the crisp, clear, sunny morning, from the Thirlmere lake, I climbed to Helvellyn (950 m - third highest in England) - sub-zero temperatures, howling wind, wild and truly arctic conditions

A long and tough walk in the foggy and wintry (some snow) Howgill Fells, nestled between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. Didn't see much because of the thick fog for the most of the day, but Cautley Spot was nonetheless awesome, and it cleared up in Bowderdale towards the end of day for a

A superb and wild walk. A loop from Birk Dale in the Yorkshire Dales via the summits of Hugh Seat, Gregory Chapel and High Seat, with fabulous views of the Mallerstang Valley and the Wild Boar Fell massif. In the second half, I climbed up to the mysterious nine tall cairns
