Wandering Cloud

A solo hiker in the UK, with many trails behind me - I like nothing better than disappearing on the moors, climbing crags, discovering hidden lochs and windswept mountain tops; the more remote, the better. I have my own YouTube channel where I document my hikes across the beautiful natural world of Great Britain.

In September 2025, I published a documentary film "A Wanderer's World" on my experiences in the natural world to my YouTube channel.

The film has had such a good reception that I've now submitted it to several independent film festivals and it has its own website: awanderersworld-film.uk

Today another long distance, but almost completely flat. Lots of forests and great gravel roads in rural areas. Except for Legnica and Złotoryja, you don't pass through many towns, and the ones you do are small.

Right outside Wrocław is the beautiful Mokrzański Forest with excellent gravel roads. After

Already in the Middle Ages, one of the most important communication routes in Europe was the “High Road”, also called the “Royal Road”, when many pilgrims travelled to Santiago de Compostela. The Way of St. James leads precisely through the Polish part of this road. On this long journey, divided into

Twelfth - and last! - day. Almost there. The end of the route is in Zgorzelec on the Lusatian Neisse, where there is also the border with Germany.

This stage is generally very peaceful: gravel, dirt roads, some forests and paths. One elevation gain, but a small one behind Lwówek Śląski to Szubieniczna

Today to beautiful Wrocław! The route leads northwest, mainly through agricultural areas and mostly minor (therefore quiet) asphalt roads. Lots of flat terrain, so it's easy, fast and pleasant to ride.

The first major towns are Brzeg and Oława. The section before Siechnice has wonderful gravel - pure

Today you have Opole halfway - ahead of you are beautiful forests and a lot of peace in nature.

You start in the Góra Św. Anna Landscape Park, with great forest paths in the Lesisko Reserve. Then, just south of Opole, there is a great forest area with fantastic gravel roads; a cyclist's dream.

Today the route leads almost exactly west to St. Anne's Mountain. After yesterday's ride through many cities and crowded places, today is the opposite: lots of silence, peace, forests, and cultivated fields. The distance is also shorter.

Shortly after the start, in Radzionków, there is the St. Wojciech

A solid distance today - over 100 kilometers. I suggest starting earlier. Today mainly many larger towns, so fewer forests and fields, and more comfortable asphalt.

In Sławków you can see the ruins of the Castle of the Bishops of Krakow, one of the oldest brick defensive castles in southern Poland. In

I dare say that today's stage is the most interesting and beautiful of all. Not only will you visit beautiful Krakow, a Polish historical pearl and former seat of kings, but you will also ride through the incredibly beautiful and charming Ojców National Park!

Yesterday you "rested", because there were only about 70 km - today there are 20 km more. You will reach Biskupice in the west, not far from Wieliczka. First, the route runs through several towns such as Wojnicz (unless you start here today - see the description of the previous stage), Sufczyn and Por

This morning, return from Dębica to the Way of St. James near Stobierna. The current stage will take you over 70 kilometers to Zgłobice, on the Dunajec River. The first 15 kilometers to the town of Dobrków offer beautiful picturesque rural landscapes and delicious forests - some forest paths and dirt
