Wandering Cloud



The first day on this incredible route to climb all the 214 Wainwrights and a tribte to Alfred Wainwright. The first day took me from Keswick over a number of Derwent Fells (see the chapters for the names of the Wainwrights) and eventually to Coledale

The first stage of this hike begins at the train station in Horyniec-Zdrój. These first kilometers on the trail are a good example of what this trail is like: you'll see beautiful rural, natural, and historical sites today.

The Roztocze Central Trail is an exceptionally peaceful route for those seeking tranquility amidst beautiful forests and picturesque fields, in small villages, and opportunities for reflection in old churches and Orthodox churches, and other cultural monuments. Today's hike, unfortunately, begins on asphalt or pavement – through Mokrelipie to Radecznica. Here, be sure to visit the Basilica of St. Anthony of Padua, a magnificent Baroque church, and the Bernardine monastery (two in one!).



Now the trail heads west and you'll soon reach a very beautiful and interesting

Make sure you have provisions, as today the trail leads exclusively through the forests of Szczebrzeszyn National Park, with no shops, and you'll only pass one town on the way to Sąsiadka (Góra, where there are no shops).

In the morning, return from Janów Lubelski to Batorz (read my comment in step 10) and see the Roman Catholic Church of St. Stanislaus, bishop and martyr, and the monument commemorating the victims of Nazi terror, unveiled in 1989.



Now head west through fields and forests towards Szastarka, where the trail

Today, we'll start with some asphalt – through Huta Turobińska and Tokary. Fortunately, you'll deviate a bit into the forest here, but you'll soon find yourself in Otrocz. Today's section is very short—a beautiful walk through the forests of Roztocze National Park. Along the way, you'll encounter information boards about the Park. Peace and quiet—the essence of this trail.



In Zwierzyniec, be sure to visit the Rudka Reservoir, which was created after the waters of the Wieprz

Today, the trail runs mostly through forests and along the edge of Krasnobrodzki National Park. It will be exceptionally quiet and peaceful. You'll pass through only two towns along the way—so you'll truly disappear into the great outdoors today!
