The station in Burgfarrnbach was officially opened on June 4, 1864; the railway bridge (viaduct) had been completed in 1863. The connection between Fürth and Würzburg only went into operation on June 19, 1865. Since then, the railway has also stopped in Burgfarrnbach, from 1892 even double track. Almost 100 years later, the new train station in Burgfarrnbach was put into operation in October 1961.
