The Solarberg on Vacher Straße near Atzenhof is an artificially created mountain with a height of 348 m above sea level (approx. 57 meters). It was the garbage dump for Fürth, which is why it was also colloquially called "Müllberg" or "Schuttberg". In the vernacular it was also jokingly called “Monte Scherbelino” or “Tell Schutt”. There was previously a deep and large pit here from which sand was extracted. The rubble mountain has an area of 11 hectares and is said to contain 2.5 million cubic meters of garbage.

On the former garbage dump - admittedly, many people from Fürth still call it that - there is a large solar system today. Much more exciting, however, is the wonderful view from above.

Great vantage point with a view over Nuremberg, Fürth and as far as Erlangen and into the lower foothills of Franconian Switzerland. The information boards on the summit plateau make it easy to identify buildings and elevations in the distance.
