The Rönnauer Mühle (local name: Carlotta) is the last surviving windmill in Lübeck.
The Galerieholländer windmill (today's address: Rönnauer Weg 8a in Travemünde) was built in 1850 by the miller of the nearby water mill as a grain mill in order to be independent of the water flow from the Rönnau stream. Despite the Senate's requirement to demolish the water mill after the windmill was completed, both mills operated in parallel for over half a century. Finally, the windmill was operated with motor power, the blades had been removed.
