Tips

Here once stood a Pottasch hut. In addition to the production of resin, pitch and charcoal, potash was also produced in many places in the Palatinate Forest. Potash is a white, granular, salt-like mass that attracts water in the air and is now called potassium carbonate (K2 CO3). Today a knight stone reminds of it.

A simple hut, suitable for a short rest or as a shelter.
No more benches or barbecue at the cottage. However, tree trunks often appear to be stored here, so that one finds a place outside the hut in dry weather.

The Pottaschhütte is located on a Wegespinne, the Wanderer deserves a break here.
