When it's not too busy and there are too many people with trainers or ignorance about, the ascent and descent are fun. Surefootedness and suitable footwear as well as consideration - keyword oncoming traffic - provided. You will be rewarded with great views.

Sturdy shoes and good conditions are required. The ascent compensates with a breathtaking view over the mountains to the Chiemsee.

The route entry in the map sketch (which is displayed by default) is misleading: Only the last (and most difficult) part of the ascent from the Steinlingalm is marked here. Depending on the starting point, the larger part of the climb is before that. The Steinling lift is not in operation in summer (drag lift!).
