The Aalemann Canal Bridge is a foot and cycle path bridge over the Aalemann Canal in the district of Hakenfelde in the Berlin district of Spandau. The barrier-free cable-stayed bridge was completed in 2010 as the last part of the Berlin section as part of the Berlin-Copenhagen cycle route. The bridge spans the Aalemann Canal - a roughly 700 meter long branch canal - shortly before it flows into the Havel. It is part of the Berlin – Copenhagen long-distance cycle route, which in turn is part of the Havel cycle route, further part of the Queen Luisen route and the Havel lake route, hiking trail 12 of the 20 green main routes in Berlin. It shortens the distances by around one kilometer because the canal had to be bypassed or cycled before the bridge was built. To the north there is the Oberhavelsteg above the Teufelssee Canal and the Bürgerablage, to the south the Maselake Canal, the Maselake Park and the Nordhafen Spandau. In addition, a car ferry can be used to cross the Havel to Tegelort on the north side of the canal.Source: de.wikipedia.org
