Historical evidence of the railway history in Saxony - this is where the Colmnitz - Frauenstein small railway ran.

Interesting and informative. Demonstration layout of the Klingenberg-Colmnitz-Oberdittmannsdorf narrow-gauge railway. Near the Tharandt Forest.

      Info:

Initial considerations for building a connecting line between the Frauenstein narrow-gauge railway and the Wilsdruff network arose shortly after the turn of the century. Under the direction of the newly founded Deutsche Reichsbahn (German Reich Railway), the line was put into operation in sections between 1921 and 1923. Throughout its entire operating life, it was one of the most unprofitable narrow-gauge railways in Saxony, so freight traffic was discontinued in June 1971 and passenger traffic in September 1971. Today, parts of the former line are used as a cycling and hiking path.
