The bridge over Germany's largest reservoir in Saalburg-Ebersdorf in eastern Thuringia is an important 240m long traffic artery in the city of Saalburg. In the past there was a wooden bridge in its place where road tolls were due. In 1929 a viaduct was built, 293 meters long and about 60 meters high (about 10 meters above the water surface). In 1945 the Wehrmacht blew up parts of the bridge, it was rebuilt in 1963 and opened to traffic four years later.

Bridge as a means to an end, for example on the circumnavigation of the Bleiloch (komoot.de/highlight/3556438), unfortunately a separate cycle path on the bridge was forgotten 🤣
