The striking gatehouse is the only remaining remnant of the Laarhof that dates from the Spanish era. The memorial stone 1931 refers to Mr. Ravenstijn who had the building restored. The coat of arms, with 3 pile drivers, can also be processed above the Poortgebouw. Striking are the 2 turrets, each of which has a characteristic shape. One has a pear on the other an apple ... so it is also called the castle 'between apple and pear'
