The lung sanatorium was probably founded in 1901 by Georg Liebe. Soldiers suffering from tuberculosis were cared for. In the oldest building complex "Holy House" is the "House of Silence"

Some of the buildings are beautiful old and some are in disrepair. The old Chapel of St. Mary dates back to the 15th century and was a place of pilgrimage.
