The Pfeiffer fountain was built in the style of Art Nouveau for the Rastatt trade exhibition in 1901. Guido Pfeiffer, who had become prosperous in Mannheim, donated the fountain to his hometown of Rastatt.

The Pfeifer fountain was originally located on the central axis of Kaiserstraße behind the town hall. After extensive renovation measures, the Pfeiffer fountain has stood in front of the Fruchthalle since 2005.
