Hiking

St Michael’s is a distinctive parish church in the heart of Macclesfield. Whilst the church has 13th-century origins, much of the exterior dates to an 1898 remodelling, including the perpendicular tower. You can observe some wonderful stained glass windows in the church which is more than 100 years old. There are also some interesting tombs from the 15th and 16th centuries. St Michael’s is Grade II-listed.

Another great little feature of Macclesfield. The 'paving slabs' in front of the church are old gravestones. Its great to just stand there and try read some of the old names.
