Trinity Chapel with stone cairns

Holy Trinity Chapel in the direction of the Weißenstein castle ruins with lots of cairns (stoa almonds)! Here is the watershed between the Danube and the Elbe.

In the past, locals carried stones as a sign of their problems and dropped them off here.

The 865 m high chapel made of wood and granite is located on the white-red marked Steinwaldweg / Franconian mountain path between the castle ruins Weissenstein and the plate, which was inaugurated on 18.8.1974. The vestibule of the open chapel is intended as a garaging.
Next to the chapel is a stone march with "atonement stones". Old people say that until a few decades ago, stones were brought up here from near and far, because they believed that this would mean forgiveness of sins.
