Oberpfalzturm on Platte (Steinwald)

The plate in the Bavarian district of Tirschenreuth is with 946 meters the highest mountain in the Steinwald, a mighty granite back in the southern Fichtelgebirge. The striking Oberpfalz tower towers on the summit. It can be climbed over 150 steps and offers wide views of the surrounding area, in good weather even the Saxon Erzgebirge and the Bavarian Forest can be seen.

The Platte in the Steinwald is worth a visit in almost any weather. There you can always discover the beautiful sides of nature. And if you dare, you can enjoy the great view from the Oberpfalzturm (Plattenturm)

Here you have a beautiful view of the forest. However, you shouldn't be afraid of heights if you climb the Oberpfalzturm. The mountain at 946m is the highest in the stone forest. When the weather is nice you can see as far as the Saxon Ore Mountains.
