Paulusbrunn went under as a result of the resettlement of the Germans after 1945 and the establishment of the restricted area on the border. The only thing that has survived after the disappeared place is the cemetery and the renewed Böttger column. This commemorates the former district chairman, lawyer and patron Josef Böttger, who helped the people. The people therefore erected this pillar out of gratitude.

A historical column that is definitely worth seeing. The Böttger column, which was renovated in 2017, is located at the “Middle Europe” meeting place at the former 'Plärrer Wittichsthal'. The history of the column and the square in the former community of Paulusbrunn is clearly explained on well-made information boards.
