Ruins of the former Pauline monastery

The monastery died out in 1786, later the Windischgrätz noble family bought it and tried to build a luxurious residence here. Prince Alfred I. Windischgrätz began building a palace near the monastery in 1858-1861, which he never completed.

According to legend, in ancient times there was a boulder with bowl-shaped indentations made according to ancient pagan rituals, on which 14 small lights appeared. However, the oldest surviving history of the place takes us back to the Middle Ages, probably the second half of the 14th century, when the Church of the Fourteen Holy Helpers was founded here under the patronage of the Order of the Crusaders of the Red Star Luxembourg was introduced in Tachov.
