The resort at Bergwitzsee is beautifully situated and a lot is being done to make it even more valuable. A beach will be heaped up, new sanitary facilities will be built and the restaurant and snack bar will not let the guests starve. A real recommendation for a short break.

It's not worth a detour here. Camping Bergwitzsee is the unfriendliest thing I've experienced on my 7-week tour. Unpleasantly grumpy reception (mid-April '22), closed hospitality and a stupid discussion about the ban on hammocks to protect the trees. Instead, I am placed on the soaking wet "tent meadow" while the mobile homes have wonderful pitches and there is still enough space for me. Rarely have I seen so much nonsense.
I never want to go there again.
