Metz-Ville1 station, usually called Metz station, is a French railway station, located near the city center of Metz, prefecture of the Moselle department, in the Grand Est region.
Built during the first German annexation of Alsace and Moselle (1871-1918), the station was inaugurated in 1908 by the Imperial Directorate General of Alsace-Lorraine Railways; it replaces the old Metz station, commissioned in 1878. The passenger building, for its facades and roofs (excluding glass roof), its honor lounge, the decor of the buffet and its departure hall, is the subject of a registration as a historical monument since January 15, 19752.
It is a station of the National Society of French Railways (SNCF), served by TGV and regional express trains.
