    Mountaineering

Already since 1909 the hut sits in airy height at the Dreitorspitzgatterl directly on the Wetterstinkamm. The hut with the magnificent view is operated by the Garmisch-Partenkirchen section of the German Aplenverein and offers sleeping accommodation to 81 climbers.

From the hut you can undertake high-alpine climbing tours to the Partenkichner and Leutascher three-pointed peaks.

You can find more information about the hut at alpenverein.de/DAV-Services/Huettensuche/Meilerhuette/6938763.

    Hiking

Rustic hut with a great view and fantastic sunsets! The furnishings are very basic (outhouse with hand sanitizer instead of soap and water, washroom with a cold water bucket). The camp is cozy, but the mattresses are rather hard.

Food in the 2024 season is also basic, with vegetarian options available, but unfortunately, no vegan options at all. Breakfast must be pre-ordered (bread and/or Bircher muesli).

The hike from Garmisch-Partenkirchen takes about five hours. More information at: alpenverein-gapa.de/berghuetten/meilerhuette.html

    Hiking

Very nice hut. The dormitory for two people is very cozy. Large food portions. Breakfast could be more substantial. Drying room available. No showers. Cold water washroom is located outside. Drinking water must be boiled or purchased in liter bottles for €3. The descent via the Söllerrinne involves climbing and requires a head for heights, surefootedness, and sturdy hiking boots. Climbing equipment is not required.
